Terms of Service
Last updated: March 27, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Buddy's website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Buddy provides tools to capture, refine, validate, and plan around business ideas, including AI-assisted features, surveys, landing pages, analytics summaries, and optional integrations. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and meet any minimum age requirements (typically 18+, or older where required). If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account.
- Provide accurate registration information and keep it updated.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Fees, renewal, and cancellation are as shown at checkout and in your billing settings.
- Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Taxes may apply based on your location.
- We may change pricing with advance notice; changes apply to subsequent billing periods where required by law.
5. Your content
- You retain ownership of content you submit ("Your Content").
- You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, display, and use Your Content solely to operate, improve, and secure the Service—including processing through AI providers and optional exports you initiate (such as Notion).
- You represent that you have the rights needed to submit Your Content and that it does not violate law or third-party rights.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, data, or accounts.
- Reverse engineer or circumvent security or usage limits except as permitted by law.
- Upload malware or content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Scrape or overload the Service in a way that impairs others.
7. AI outputs
AI-generated suggestions may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for evaluating outputs before relying on them. The Service does not provide legal, financial, or professional advice.
8. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties (for example Supabase, Stripe, OpenAI, Notion). Their terms and policies apply when you use those integrations or when we route data to them on your behalf.
9. Intellectual property
Buddy's name, branding, software, and documentation are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you, we reserve all rights.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUDDY AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Buddy against claims arising from Your Content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms, subject to applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or for operational reasons. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive termination.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction you designate for your business (replace this with your chosen governing law and venue before launch), without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted.
